Form + Function Myo Therapy
Shawna Plate, RDH, OMT
Thoughtful, education-based myofunctional therapy for children and adults — rooted in dental experience and real-life insight.
I’m a registered dental hygienist with over 20 years of clinical experience, but my path into myofunctional therapy became personal when I began to notice patterns in my own child that no one had ever taught me to look for. Despite years in dentistry, I realized how little education there was around breathing, oral habits, and resting posture—and how deeply these patterns can affect development, sleep, and daily function.
Myofunctional therapy gave me a framework to understand what I had been missing and a way to support children and adults beyond traditional dental care. Today, I use both my clinical background and lived experience to guide families with education-focused therapy that supports healthy habits, function, and long-term wellness.
